So much so that in 1935, the site of the Ermitage Frère Joseph was classed as one of the monuments and sites of an artistic and historic character by the Ministry of Public Instruction and Fine Arts of the period.
Ventron is also the ideal base from which to explore the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park with its iconic rounded peaks (the “ballons” or balls), the Hautes-Chaumes, its moors, its hills lined with oaks and beeches, its rivers and streams, and its lakes.
